Sensory Integration Applications
.
Some children find it difficult to eat textured foods. A kid can have difficulty putting on certain clothes, he can constantly move objects with his fingertips instead of his fingers. Does he find it difficult going up or down stairs? Does he avoid playing with some toys in the park? Can he communicate with his friends? As you can imagine, all these questions are about sensory integration. Sensory integration has become a very important concept in child development in recent years. Sensory integration is defined as the neurological process that allows us to use our body in accordance with our environment by organizing sensory information from our body and environment.
We understand that our children who are physically uncomfortable in school will not feel comfortable emotionally and socially, and it is wrong to expect academic success from our children who experience an uncomfortable school life. For this reason, we conduct sensory integration research with our preschool children. Through these activities, we aim to develop gross motor skills, fine motor skills, and perceptual motor skills.
